Introduction
Objective: 

  To practice critical thinking skills for writing a 
  3-5 paragraph essay.  Students will learn how to collect 
  information, distinguish between facts and opinions, and 
  practice expressing their ideas clearly in an essay format.

  Class participation/attendance:  20%
  Classwork, mid-term examination, final exercise:  80%

     S:  90-100%
     A:  80-89%
     B:  70-79%
     C:  60-69%
     F:  Less than 60%

  Unless otherwise specified, classwork (exercises)
  should be completed by two days before the next
  class meeting.
