What is a technical report?

A technical report is a written documentation of experimental 
research to help other researchers study or evaluate the work done. 
Structure of a technical report?

The typical structure of a technical report is as follows: 

  * Introduction: description of the problem and its importance 
  * Materials and Method: explanation of how the research arrived 
    at the results 
  * Results: what was discovered 
  * Discussion and Conclusion: an analysis of the importance of 
    the results and their implications 

Other names for technical reports: (full, regular) papers (8-20 pages), 
letters (or short papers) (1-3 pages).
