<授業の特色>
Course Description
In this course, students will practice critical thinking
skills for writing a 3-5 paragraph essay. They will learn
how to collect information, distinguish between facts and
opinions, and practice expressing their ideas clearly
in an essay format.

<評価方法>
Grading
Students receive points for class participation, classwork, mid-term
examination, and a final exercise to evaluate whether or not:
* they can identify, write topic sentences for an essay
* they can construct a 3-5 paragraph essay on a given topic
* their vocabulary has expanded from the text readings
* their grammar skills have improved from the class exercises
The grading scale is shown below:
Class participation/attendance: 20%
Classwork, mid-term examination, final exercise: 80%
S: 90-100%
A: 80-89%
B: 70-79%
C: 60-69%
F: Less than 60%
