This laboratory was created in 2002 for hosting
the research work of students in
SUGSI,
the online graduate school of Shinshu University, Dept.
of Information Engineering working under the guidance
of Pauline N. Kawamoto. It is a spin-off of the
Kiso Laboratory.
Research
The main research areas include: Petri net applications and
tool development, development of web-based applications such
as CAI, groupware, and database programs, formalization and
automatic generation of software/hardware.
Students
The SUGSI students of
this laboratory typically do their research work off-campus
and report their progress by e-mail. First-year students
give a mid-term presentation on their work on campus or
over the Internet and a final thesis presentation is done
in person on campus the second year.
