Sample idea 2

Since we are talking about engineering problems, remember to keep in mind not only what you have, but also what you want. It would be better to say, "I need to get an adaptor to make this mouse connect to this PC" than just "this mouse doesn't fit". Describing what ideal situation is desired gives a problem direction (which helps the engineer decide what to do to get it solved).

Sample dialogue:

A: Oh no...
B: What's wrong?
A: This was the only extra mouse left in the lab, but this laptop doesn't have the right (PS/2) connection for it.
B: Maybe you can find an adaptor for it and connect it to a USB port instead?
A: Do we have those in the lab?
